COMFORT CLOUD
THE BRIEF
We were presented with the challenge of designing a working Arduino product in response to a natural disaster. My group identified displacement due to flooding as our focus, and I narrowed this further to specifically target mental health issues associated with the topic.
THE SOLUTION
The Comfort Cloud is a two-part device aimed to monitor and reduce stress and anxiety. Designed to assist adults experiencing mental health issues caused by displacement due to flooding.

Organic Form
User Tested - Ergonomic Considerations
Simple Interface
Increased Usability Under Stress
ACCESSIBLE
Portable - Anxiety is Unpredictable, So The Comfort Cloud Is Always There
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The bracelet is the first line of response; it uses heart rate and temperature sensors to detect signs of anxiety. A blue LED light indicator switches on to visually communicate to the user that they are experiencing increased stress levels.

When this occurs, it is an indication for the user to source the cloud device. This is programmed with psychologist approved strategies that reduce anxiety and stress levels. First, there is a pulsing LED to guide the user through breathing exercises. A speaker to play music, acting as a distraction and calming the mind. Lastly, a motor that produces vibrations to re-direct the user's focus and enable them to ground themselves.
